Depois de criar o sucesso "Além da Imaginação" (The Twilight Zone), Rod Serling continuou a explorar a imaginação humana com a série "Galeria do Terror" (Night Gallery). Pegando muito de sua antiga criação e colocando o terror e o humor. Os contos de "Galeria do Terror" são apresentados por Rod Serling através de representações de pesadelos em quadros de um museu antigo (daí o nome original de "Night Gallery" ou numa tradução literal, "Galeria da Noite"), estão mais voltados para o horror e o sobrenatural, com temas predominantemente sombrios e mórbidos, apesar de existirem alguns episódios em forma de vinhetas com humor negro.
