La serie está ambientada en un universo habitado únicamente por animales antropomórficos de muchas especies y se centra en un trío de campistas que asisten a un campamento de verano mal administrado conocido como Camp Kidney. El trío está formado por Lazlo, el excéntrico y optimista mono araña; Raj, el tímido elefante indio; y Clam, el silencioso rinoceronte pigmeo albino, y sus múltiples desventuras surrealistas.

To do so, Lazlo, Clam, Raj, and Patsy must find the rock of hope, whick leads to the big bean scout jamboree. They do so, and they meet the big bean (who is puny) and says that he shut down Camp Kidney. After Raj reads Lazlo's neckerchief and it says a poem, the big bean opens up its heart, reopening Camp Kidney.
